Does it snow in Beirut, Lebanon?

We're told from a very reliable source (mum) that last time it snowed in Beirut was when my sister was born in December 1961, apparently it was spectacular because beirut was covered with snow and you could see all white until you get to the blue of the sea.

I havent seen snow in Beirut ......but who knows? With all the climate changes nowadays may be it can happes some day.

Till now, the only snow I have seen is in the mountains and sometimes a middle way between Beirut and the mountains, like in Bikfaya, Brummana, etc, but only lasts for a few hours.

I remember in the 1990's (Don't recall the exact date), Beirut was filled with (barad) not snow, but it was everywhere, and i was a kid back then (didn't grow up much now), so we went down and played with the snow, but nope, never recall it snowing before, and i certainly aint born in 1961!!

Yes I have been there in March and in Beruit there was snow on the groud and cold Im from South Florida by the way so I feel the tempature changes quite quickly :)

it's at sea level and in the mediteranean not in the mountains.
