Studying abroad in Lebanon?

Question

I'm a single young Jewish woman interested in spending a semester in Beirut, with day trips to Syria and Jordan, among other places. I'm already getting a new passport so I don't have my Israel stamps on it, but is there anything else I should keep in mind, both safety and sightseeing wise?

first of all, it's better not to tell anyone what your religion is. try to stay in areas where there is no danger or political tension, try to stay in ras beirut or the eastern sector of beirut, you can also go to the mountains and some places in north lebanon(except tripoli). you can go to some places in the south but i do not recommend that.

do not discuss politics or religion with anyone.

you are going to enjoy it there really, there is everything to do and the people are very friendly. AUB is a great university to go to.

Beirut is a fantastic hub of activity and an excellent portal to other places in the Middle East--you absolutely must go to Petra in Jordan!

Lebanon with the great nightlife and great beaches Jordan with Petra and Aqaba and all the Romanian stuph , syria with the nature and great food have fun and one more thing it is alot safer than the place u'r setting in right now it is really safe specially for foreingers

Its not a problem if you go there and are Jewish.

The only problem would be if you had an Israeli stamp on your passport but since you're getting a new passport, there should be no problem. :)
